| Subject: Collins Power Plant Construction |
| Location: East Morris, IL |
| Date: 1972? |
Credit: Unknown |
Notes: These two shots show the construction of the Collins natural gas generating plant, which was at the South end of Heidecke Lake. The plant has since been torn down. The EJ&E had a branch off the IRL that came to the plant, on a peninsula that ran down the middle of the lake. The track is still there and has been used in the past to store power company coal gons. |

| Location: New Lenox, IL |
| Date: Unknown |

|
| Subject: Inland Steel and EJ&E Lakefront Line |
| Location: 10/18/1968 |
| Date: Unknown |
Credit: Unknown |
Notes: This shot shows the south side of massive Inland plant. You can barely make out where the EJ&E main is, by finding the odd high tension power tower on the far left of the photo, which is shaped like a house. The track ran under that. On the right near the lake is where the J had yard tracks to exchange cars with Inland. The main was next to those. |

| Subject: Buffington Harbor |
| Location: Gary, IN |
| Date: Unknown |
| Credit: Unknown |
Notes: This was before the rest of the fill had been done to the east. This was a cement making plant, owned by many groups, but originally started by a subsidiary of USS. They used limestone from Michigan (brought on ships) and slag from the mills. You can see where they had an impressive high-line there. All of the buildings in the left half were apparently torn down in the 90's. The bottom of the photos are stamped: "Kaufmann & Fabry Co. - Chicago" |

The tracks that curve down from the middle right of the photo and go along the bottom of the mill, are the tracks that came out of EJ&E's H Yard. |
